Chateau Simian, Chateauneuf du Pape 2007 Napa Valley some mushroom and funk

some mushroom and funk

Pears and lemons

The 2000 Château Figeac is one of the strongest examples of the vintage I have tasted in quite some time

Clearly this approach has yielded one of the most remarkable examples of this

Initially some barnyard funk but that blew off quickly

Chateau Simian, Chateauneuf du Pape 2007 Napa Valley some mushroom and funk91 CellarTracker Not really any bricking to speak of. A bit cloudy in the glass probably should have decanted for sediment. Bright red fruit on the nose with the typical CdP peppery nose. Ripe fruit on the palate. Resolved tannins. Good structure from the acidity. Drinking splendidly at the moment. Better with wild game bird than red meat at this point in its life. 4 18 2021
