This is a portrait of Albert V, Duke of Bavaria and a Knight in the Order of the Golden Fleece, an exclusive order of chivalry. He is identified as such by the neck order, a livery collar, he is wearing in this portrait. He was the son of William IV and Marie Jacobaea of Baden. Albert V was a strict Catholic and leader of the German Counter Reformation. He sought to
