It does however have a clear 5 1 2 1 rolling mill lot number stamped onto the inside of the dome

The other chappe is blank and would often be used for the officer to add a monogram

It is approximately a size 7 3/8 US (59cm)

According to the Tower of London this size cannon is considered a SAKER

This is a very good condition example of an early war produced Type I version of the legendary Luftwaffe Fallschirmjger Messer, or German air force paratrooper knife (FJM or FKm). It does however have a significant fault, in that the blade latch is missing, due to the somewhat delicate leaf spring it is attached to having broken off by the rivet. This is a very common thing to happen to these knives, as they were
