Original Imperial German WWI Kingdom of Saxony Infantry Officer’s Model 1897 Pickelhaube Helmet with Officer’s Cockades & Chinscales Snider Rifle Year of Manufacture: 1859Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very fine private purchase Imperial German officers Pickelhaube for an infantry officer of the Kingdom of Saxony. The helmet retains its distinctive two piece Saxon wappen, tall officers spike, gilt chinscales, both officers cockades, lined visors, leather sweatband, silk skull cap, and original size label. Its Model 1897 configuration would have remained appropriate for wear through the WWI period.
