I have long admired these sorts of tiles-- produced in the 18th and 19th century during the Qajar period in Persia--which very frequently feature hunters on horses like this one

It is marked with an "x" on the base and three small pads have been added

This is one of my very favorite boxes I've had in my possession

Strangely satisfying, and very all American. 5 5 8" w x 3 5 8" d x 3" t, very solid, with some nice age to it, a bit more rusty on one side than the other.
