This is a tremendous WWI 26th Division painted doughboy helmet, with a gorgeous field artillery cannon painted on one side and the soldiers unit painted on the other side in a culturally significant way. The clearly New England soldier writes: BAWT. B. 103TH 26 Div Bawt in this case means Battery, denoting that the soldier is in Battery B, 103rd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Division. He incorrectly writes 103rd as
