I've had one other old toy mold in this shop similar in construction to this birdy--which I just found along with a pig
The wooden box shows some loss of veneer along the top edge
Wonderful things to put to use again as spools for holding a collection of special ribbons now
but the binding is good on the rest
I am pretty certain it was meant to represent a nativity scene--seems there were plans out there somewhere for making these
SOLD Red Horse, Wonderful 19th Century Folk Art Watercolor Drawing old fishing bobber I've had one other oldFound in, and I believe of, Pennsylvania, and I think earlier than later 19th century. Terrific color, wonderfully bold and graphic, completely unfussy. With "No. 36" written at upper left, and "The Horse" written a couple of times in ink at top center and again running vertically up from bottom center.
