Across the top of the rear end of the barrel there is an old SILVER Plaque 3" X 2 1/4" stating:-

These are the earlier style Swan Necked Hammers with vertical post around which the top jaw locates

giving rise to the nickname "AH's buzzsaw" (and the German soldiers' AHsäge ("AH's saw" or "bonesaw")

For added authenticity we have used steel sling attachments (fully secure) to allow you to correctly use a leather Type 99 sling

in which the sling was looped around the gunner
