This is a very nice service used of the Mauser Model 1871 84 rifle, the first Magazine rifle widely used by the German Empire. It looks to have seen very long service, and is fitted with an M1874 81 dress bayonet, as well as an original sling. It looks very much like this was reissued for use during WWI, as rear echelon troops were often armed with Mauser 1871 84 and Gewehr 88 'Commission' rifles. It has a lovely
