This is a genuine Pattern 1861 pattern Federal issue leather cartridge box for . 58 caliber. Outer flap has light surface wear with a latch tab that is attached by straight line stitching. The tab hole is torn on one side but the tab remains intact. Interior flap is in very good condition and is complete with both ears. The inside flap is nicely stamped C. Peters. Both tins are present. Bottom of the box has both
