I have done a fair bit of searching but have not placed the precise origins of this pinback button

how even did they get the signature in there

such that it really takes moving around her to see her--and even then one's sense of her keeps shifting

clearly made by the same person

Old Carved Folk Art Still Bank with Crown of Thorns Corners 1908 I have done a fairWith its crown of thorns type construction, this folk art still bank seems a good one for collecting tithes or perhaps saving up to purchase something sinful! Very lovingly carved and constructed, of cigar box wood wood I believe, with especially nice incising on the slide opening, with four stars surrounding the coin slit and zig zag edges on either end. Lovely, Approx. 4 1 2" x 4 1 2" x 4 1 2". Very good condition, with a small loss to one point,
