and think the expressions on the faces of the hitter and catcher are both pretty great

and then the wonderful rich dark charcoal black of the carved body with rounded belly

I'm not quite sure the mix of metals here mostly lead I think, but at least one that appears to be pewter (the boar is especially heavy). They are all definitely old, and most with rings for hanging; I love the mix of dogs and cats and horses among them, plus tools and instruments and a little chair, though it has lost one arm.
