Original French Mle 1842 Percussion Musket Converted to Shotgun for African Zulu Trade circa 1870 Brunswick Parts Another extraordinary piece acquired inOriginal Item: Only One Available. This started life as a French Mle 1842 Line Musket or even possibly a Percussion Rifle. However when it was obsoleted it was sold to be converted into a Single Barrel Percussion Shotgun for sporting use. The shotgun is actually quite nice, with a very attractive figured stock, probably French walnut. The right side of the butt stock has a hole where the stock markings would have been added to a wooden plug, now
