I have found the work of an NYC based artist named Sue Kutosh online

I have not touched the wood on this piece

with no chips or splits--really a super sweet thing

and either way would be a very good one to play on

and it appears there are old staples along the top edges of the shorter sides which perhaps held some covering in place
