It features a heavy smooth bent steel hilt with split muzzle ring and a single piece crossguard with Arabic numbers for serial 8229 which could be a post 1928 modification from when the blade was shortened

Interior is ink stamped in Kanji

The enamel is missing on most of the drag on both sides

since the RLM wanted Heinkel to concentrate on bomber production and instead promoted the development of the rival Messerschmitt Me 262

This is a very nice all original example Model 1935 German WWII "double decal" helmet with a Luftwaffe Eagle decal on the left side, and a "National Colors" decal on the right. The use of the second decal was discontinued in 1940, and in 1943 it was ordered that helmets with the national colors have them removed, so finding a helmet with both still intact is a real treat!
