Acquired directly from the British government in the mid 1990s this is fine boxed stereoscope with KERSHAW optics and mirrors by CASELLA of LONDON who was a Ministry of Defense Contractor from about 1970 until 1993 when the "Cold War" eventually ended

and possibly Nepalese markings as well

The prototype featured an articulating safety lever on the right side of the action to prevent loosening of the lock when on horseback and a sling anchor ring near the muzzle

ASDEC did not have a "base" of operations because this support organization was designed to be on the move continuously

Found hanging in an English barn this is a totally original oil lantern manufactured in 1916 expressly for use in the WW1 trenches. Complete with the burner and wick, it retains all four glass panes and the original makers metal plaque embossed: HOWES & BURLLY C&M 1916, BIRMINGHAM Steel outer of the lantern is pitted from exposure but totally original in the black finish that it had in WW1.
