I take the scene as an open air market or fair, with all the figures moving along the center aisle drawn in profile, almost all facing in one direction, while all the figures hosting booths (none looking super happy about it) are drawn facing front as if just hoping some of these walkers will stop to visit them, but feeling pretty lonely
