with pieces of armor strewn on the ground and laurel wreaths in the hands of two of the women--evincing a sense of the toils of war and a hard won peace

3 1/4 x 2 3/4 x 2 9/16 and in excellent condition

it appears that this is a fragment of what was once a longer piece

M Paillard charcoal sticks, early 20th c I believe. Paillard was a French maker of drawing and drafting supplies, much beloved by artists (there are tributes to their charcoal sticks out there!), which ceased operation in 1980. Nice. Box is 7 1 8" l x 2 3 4" w x 2 3 8" t. In very good condition, as are the charcoal sticks. I did not remove them from the box so as not to get them (or me!) messy, but it
