Up until 1881 this famous regiment was known as the 24th of foot, which is remembered for it's magnificent stand against 4,000 Zulu warriors at Rorke's Drift in 1879, the theme of the Michael Caine Movie "ZULU". In the 1881 Childer's Reforms the Regiment was retitled "THE SOUTH WALES BORDERERS" but the regiment will always be remembered as the 24th of Foot.
