and I am pretty certain the JK (or KJ) who signed it was also the author of two other ink and watercolor drawings I've just listed with a very similar line

this one with a an elongated oval shaped mirror and a sense that it has lived a very interesting life

I might guess the album, or notebook, it came from featured other watercolors of, and notes about, various species of wild life, as here the wood ducks are numbered 1, 2 and 3 at far right.
