I'd guess the carving dates 1920s-40s

but perhaps it is his bearded face that floats about the text

but sturdy and stable and stands flush to the ground

And what a pretty and serene one this is, almost perfectly round, feeling like a gulp of sky. In excellent condition, a sort of soft blue purple, with some mottling to the glaze and a bit of variation on one side.
