The traditional weapon of the Irish for many centuries has been the solid wood club we all know as a "SHILLELAGH." These were traditionally carried by Irish Farmers and Yeomen as a sign of importance and at a push a defensive weapon. This example dating to the 1880's and 1890's deliberately resembles the African ZULU War Club known as a Knobkierie. It has been extensively carved to resemble three twisted branches, with
