which runs all the way around the perimeters of each tray

Earthy Presumed Mid Century Japanese Signed Studio Pottery Vase red white blue The male penguin overall inI want to describe this Japanese vessel as Brutalist, but certainly much of its inspiration comes from traditional Japanese pottery, including its beautiful jar form. (And I think it could be situated in the tradition of Shigaraki ware rugged, functional stoneware that originated in a valley to the southeast of Kyoto some 1,000 years ago.) Earthly, elegant, super satisfying. 4 1 2" t x 4 3 4" in diameter. Excellent vintage condition. Signed (incised)
