This is a very nice U. S. Marine Corps Model No. 2 "Kapok" Life preserver vest, in the correct Navy Blue color, dated 1944. It is marked with U. S. M. C. above the Marine Corps EGA. This is the first of this type of life preserver that we have had, as they were more easily used post war than the "Mae West" type, which required air for inflation and functionality. This type of preserver was also intended more for
