instituted in 1948 for the Commemoration of the 1918 Czechoslovakian/Italian Division

The submarine has been preserved as a museum ship at the Submarine Force Library and Museum in Groton

bearing an open-ended wreath of oak leaves in bronze gilt with green enamels

when not in actual battle use
