Japan, Imperial Navy. A Captain Dress Coat, C.1940 Auction clip marked "AT6-908JFM&Co"A Second War Imperial Japanese Navy coat constructed of black wool with a complete cotton blend interior lining. The cuffs of both arms bear sleeve insignias constructed of gold bullion representing the rank of Captain in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Down each breast lays six gilded bronze buttons beside six reinforced buttonholes, allowing the wearer to close the coat on either side.
