Turkey, Ottoman Empire. An Order Of Medjidie (Mecidiye), Civil Division, Ii Class Star, C.1880 Auction maker marked "V-21-CG" on the(Mecidiye Nian). Instituted in 1851. Multi piece construction, center appliqu in Gold with red enamels, mounted to a silver seven pointed star base, silver standard marked on the reverse the star and on the cartouche, measuring 75. 5 mm (w) x 75. 7 mm (h), intact enamels, vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, extremely fine. Footnote: The Order of Medjidie (Mecidiye) was instituted in 1851. It was issued in considerable numbers by Sultan Abdlmecid,
