A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse depicting the leftward facing bust of the Grand Duchess Alice of Hesse, circumscribed by her name and title ALICE GROSHERZOGIN VON HESSEN; the reverse inscribed IN MEMORIAM within an open ended laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, measuring 42. 18 mm (w) x 49. 14 mm (h), weighing 30. 2 g, on a pentagonal red, white, blue and green ribbon, very fine.
