Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a circular medallion bearing a central SA Leibstandarte insignia in the form of a cursive L defaced by an edelweiss and mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of SA LEIBSTANDARTE ERSTER IM ABFAHRTSLAUF A.
