The medals were to have been made from the medal of a captured Russian T-34 tank but the metal was found to be unsuited for the purpose

France, Ii Restoration. A Légion D'honneur, Reduced Size, C.1820 Newly Listed The medals were to have(Ordre de la Lgion d'Honneur). Instituted in 1802. (1814 1830). In silver with blue, white and green enamels, both centrepieces in Gold, hallmarked with a fasces on the ring, measuring 26. 7 mm (w) x 44. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and laterally pierced ball suspension, chipping evident in the green enamels in the leafing on the reverse, original ribbon, better than fine.
