France, I Empire. A Légion D'honneur, V Class Legionnaire, C.1806 United Republic of War Merit Cross 2nd Class(Ordre national de la Lgion d'honneur, Lgionnaire). Instituted in 1802. Type II (1806). In silver with white, blue and green enamels, Gold centrepieces, hallmarked with a fasces on the ring, measuring 37 mm (w) x 54. 8 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and laterally pierced ball suspension, chipping and crazing evident in the white enamels on the arms and in the green enamels on the wreath on both sides, along with the blue enamels on the reverse
