Constructed of silvered and painted zink, the obverse consisting of a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of 1939 on a pebbled background, topped by a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, with the date and swastika displaying post manufacture black and red painting in addition to a re application of silver
