Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal, Galipoli Star Newly Listed 1862-63 Mexican Campaign Medal -(Harp Madalyas). Instituted in 1915. Cast silvered metal with red patination, Turkish made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, measuring 56. 2 mm (w) x 54. 5 mm (h), horizontal pinback, tiny chip in the red patination on the tip of the star point at 12 o'clock, the remaining patination intact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal.
